Liz Cross Legacy Bright Space in the UK

On 6th September volunteers from Bright Horizons set up equipment for a new Bright Space in Oxfordshire. In October 2005, Liz Cross, who was a member of staff at Mongewell Park Nursery, was tragically killed in a car accident. Liz was a young, vibrant member of staff who loved life and the babies she worked with. A fund of £7,000 was raised over the following 12 months in order to open a Bright Space in Liz’s memory.

Bright Horizons Teacher Uses Talents to Bring Smiles to Homeless Children

Jen Oswald’s passion for children began at an early age. As a teenager she recalls fond memories of volunteering at a local homeless shelter with her mother. “It was an amazing experience for me, but we had to be creative. We would play with the kids in an area no bigger than a large closet, with very few toys or structured activities. I think that is why I was so drawn to the Bright Spaces program. It just made so much sense to me.”

Children helping Children

We love hearing stories like these from our Bright Horizons Centers across America. Several children at the Bright Horizons West Point Child Learning Center in Lansdale, Pennsylvania made blankets for the My Stuff Bags Foundation. The group of 6 year olds who worked on the blankets can’t wait to make more.
