Comfort Blankets

One of the many volunteer opportunities supported by the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is our Why Knot? program. Why Knot? is a great, hands-on volunteer project that allows you, the children that you care for, your family, your friends, and/or your co-workers to work side by side creating cuddly fleece blankets for children who need the comforting warmth of a blanket made just for them.

Visit the Why Knot? web page for step-by-step instructions on doing a Why Knot? project, or contact Julie Kelly at julie.kelly@brighthorizons.com for more information.

Early Discoveries employees and school-agers helped create about 40 blankets for Samaritan House, a homeless shelter for women and children in North Chicago, IL. Here teachers Nick Campbell, Rachel Bel, and Mary Diaz show off the blankets they helped make.
